It contains vitamin C, along with the essential minerals calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, potassium and zinc. It also contains flavonones and the xanthone mangiferin, which have antioxidant properties. These properties may help prevent the advent of cancer and boost the immune system.
Honeybush tea has traditionally been used for relieving symptoms of colds, flu, asthma and chest congestion, and may help the body expel phlegm. It can also help ease constipation and indigestion.

Put 1 to 2 teaspoons of loose herbs per 6 to 8 oz of boiling water. cover tightly and steep for 5 to 10 minutes. For a more "medicinal" effect, steep 15 to 30 minutes. Strain and enjoy.
