Sage is a herb native to the Mediterranean area. It has a unique pleasant aromatic scent. It is rich in antioxidants and Vitamin K and has traditionally been used to help alleviate symptoms of digestive problems such as loss of appetite, flatulence, gastritis, diarrhoea, bloating and heartburn.

It has also been used to help improve information processing for Alzheimer patients and assist in the symptoms of chemical imbalance in depression. Sage has been found to contain important anti-inflammatory properties and has been found to be good at lowering cholesterol and triglyceride levels in patients with diabetes type 2.

Women have also used Sage to manage painful menstrual periods, correct excessive milk flow during nursing and reduce hot flushes during menopause.
